An Unexpected Honour!
We are so incredibly honoured and grateful to have been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at The 2024 Neurodiverse Review Awards!
The award ceremony took place on Sunday August 18th at the Greyfriars Charteris Centre in Edinburgh. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to members of the Company representing our recent Fringe production of An Unexpected Hiccup, a nominee in the Birds of Paradise Exceptional Theatre Award category.
The Award was a delightful surprise even to our own team, and impromptu speeches were delivered by Artistic Director Maria Oller and Lung Ha Ensemble and An Unexpected Hiccup cast member Gavin Yule.
The Neurodiverse Review Awards take place every year in the final week of the Festival, reflecting the dedication and exceptional talent of disabled and neurodiverse acts at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to those who have “made a lasting difference to the creative landscape for disabled and neurodiverse acts”.
To receive such an award in our 40th anniversary year feels like an extra special honour and Lung Ha Theatre Company would like to sincerely thank The Neurodiverse Review Award judges, as well as all of our supporters and friends in Scottish theatre and beyond.
