Volunteer with Lung Ha Theatre Company’s Support Team

Deadline for Applications: Monday 12th August (end of day)

As Scotland’s leading theatre company for actors and theatre makers with a learning disability and autism, Lung Ha Theatre Company aims to engage our actors, develop their practice and remove barriers to participation. The company provides a platform and voice for people whose stories are not always heard.

Lung Ha Theatre Company’s volunteer support team members are at the heart of our work. They support and encourage the actors to work to the best of their abilities, while participating fully in workshops and rehearsals.

We are looking for new volunteers to join our Support Team in Autumn 2024.

Regular ensemble rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings, 6 – 9pm – the location is normally a venue in central Edinburgh. New volunteers will need to commit to three Tuesday evenings per month for the first three months.   There is no minimum commitment after that, however we will prioritise new volunteers at the recruitment stage who are able to commit long term.

Experience of working with people who are learning disabled or autistic would be an advantage but is not essential.

More information on the role and how to apply is included in our Application Pack and Volunteer Information Pack. Please read the Application Pack and Volunteer Information Pack in full before applying.

If you have any questions, please contact or ring us on 0131 221 9568

All volunteers are required to have PVG membership for doing regulated work with protected adults. We support our volunteers to apply for membership if they don’t already have it, or for a scheme record update if they do. This is completely free.
