Join Lung Ha Theatre Company's Volunteer Support Team! Deadline: Thursday 26th August
We have space for new volunteers to join our Support Team.
Our volunteers are at the heart of our work. They support and encourage our actors to work to the best of their abilities, while participating fully in workshops and rehearsals. There are sometimes opportunities during performances for volunteers to provide extra support onstage or backstage. Personal care is not part of the role.
This is what our volunteers have said about working at Lung Ha Theatre Company and what they have learned:
‘Lung Ha has taught me what theatre should be. It has taught me how professionalism, inclusivity, and creativity can allow a company to thrive. I have learned how to hone my own creativity, empathy, and passion for theatre through Lung Ha.’
'Everyone brings their own skills and diversity, everyone is valued at Lung Ha and should be valued always.'
'The fearlessness is contagious as you know others have your back.’
New Volunteer Support Team Members need to have:
– An interest in theatre or performance
– Experience of working as part of a team (this does not have to be from an employment or volunteering position)
– Good verbal communication skills
– Enthusiasm, patience and flexibility
– An open mind and willingness to learn and try out new things
– The ability and commitment to keep in touch by email
Experience of working with people who have a learning disability would be an advantage but is not essential.
We need new volunteers who are able to commit to three Tuesdays a month at the following times:
Rehearsals on Zoom: 4 – 5pm or 5.30 – 6.30pm (or a mixture)
When we're able to work face to face, rehearsals at a venue in Edinburgh: 6 – 9pm
If you would like to apply for the volunteer role, or have any questions, please contact Becky Leach, Company Support Worker by end of day, Thursday 26th August. You can reach Becky by emailing the following address: email@example.com
All volunteers are required to have PVG membership for doing regulated work with protected adults. We support our volunteers to apply for membership if they don't already have it, or for a scheme record update if they do. This is completely free.
