Performer Perspective – Stephan Tait

Hello my name is Stephan Tait and I have been a member of Lung Ha Theatre Company for nearly 8 years. In that time I have seen a lot of positive changes. As well as devising our own show we also now take texts from famous playwrights and put our own spin on them. I have also been on tours as well with the Company around Scotland and abroad.

When I/we are preparing for a show, the rehearsal process is quite different from other companies because everyone in the company has a disability and everybody’s needs are different of course. For me personally, I really enjoy all aspects of preparing for a show. Being with Lung Ha has been a great experience for me, I have had the pleasure of working and learning from some fantastic people and actors too and going on our tours and winning a CATS award in 2010 for “Huxley's Lab”

I mean its true what they say; you learn something new everyday, especially in this line of work. That is certainly the case for me. I love the Company, I love doing what I do and I hope that I can do it for as long as possible.
